With the summer fast approaching, everyone’s eye is turning to the runway to see the newest beauty trends. Just my Look is an online beauty retailer, specialising in bringing popular and well known brands at affordable prices. They popped into my inbox asking if I wanted to try out some of the latest beauty trends for you guys to see. The bundle of goodies included the following:
- Nails Inc nail varnish in the shade Montpelier Walk
- Sleek highlighter palette
- Sleek Matte Me liquid lipstick in the shade Fired Up
- Crazy Color hair dye in the candyfloss shade
When I unpackaged the box, I was immediately drawn to the PERFECT nude nail shade, Montpelier Walk from Nails Inc. The only way to describe the colour is as the perfect nude. It looks so feminine and professional on the nails; I’d definitely recommend it for any of you who can’t wear bright nails in your everyday work/school situation. This give the clean fresh look of a painted nail without being too eye-catching. The formula is as perfect as any other Nails Inc formula… I swear by Nails Inc and my whole collection is purely only their brand. The brush applicator makes the nail varnish SO easy to apply and it goes on so opaque, even on a first coat. The Nail Pure range is a breakthrough formula with a revolutionary oxygen resin complex…. too you and me that means it’s great for creating a high shine finish!
The Crazy Color hair dye is a brand I have tried before and loved before. It used to be my GO TO hair dye brand for a quick dip dye job ahead of any festival. I can guarantee you now I will be using this gorgeous, pastel, candy floss dye for my upcoming Glastonbury look!
Sleek MakeUP results
The above image I have left unedited so you can all see the true colour of the deep red lipstick from Sleek, as well as see the subtle glow that the highlighter palette gives.
Firstly, the highlighter palette from Sleek is so gorgeous for a lower budget brand. As you well know, my previous highlighter knowledge stems from my experience with the Laura Geller baked gelato swirl highlighter. With this in mind, this palette from Sleek isn’t quite as pigmented or “glowy” as the likes of Laura Geller… that’s not to mean it still looks great for a perfect subtle look. The palette comes with 4 shades and formulas of highlighter and the one I was immediately drawn to was the powder pink… the golden/brown ones just won’t suit my skin tone but the pink really is gorgeous.
Secondly, the Matte Me liquid lipstick in the shade Fired Up. This red is perfect for me (as you know from my various previous posts swearing my allegiance to all red lipsticks). The formula, I have to say, isn’t the best from a liquid lipstick… it really does dry your lips out. However, with the drying also comes the amazing staying power. I mean, I literally had to scrub this off my lips at the end of the day… it did not move! It definitely beat all my other liquid lipsticks in terms of staying power, it’s just a shame that is is also so drying. The shade itself is gorgeous and I can definitely see myself rocking it on many nights out with a simple cat eye look… my favourite!
I’m so impressed with the brands that Just my Look sent me to review for you all. I can definitely see the beauty trends that are emerging and have kinda been with us for the whole of 2017… I’m talking “that glow” and a perfect matte lip. Throw in a bit of nude and some pastel colours and you’ve got your summer look looking top notch. Be sure to go take a browse on their website 🙂
