T’was the month before Christmas and, to my surprise, I had an invite sat in my email to the Boohoo blogger Christmas party. A night of sass and sparkle… I was thrilled to say the least! The thrill soon turned to nervousness as it dawned on me that I wouldn’t know anyone but, luckily enough, they offered a plus one so I immediately knew I was going to take my bestie gal, Emma, along for the ride.
Ahead of the party, Boohoo kindly contacted me to send me a dress of my choice and I decided to choose a quite casual, yet dressy, number that had a lace top with a black dress cami over the top (2 in 1 combo). I always feel most comfortable in black and it will always be my favourite colour choice… sorry not sorry. The lace top under the black cami dress also added a bit of winter sass to what could be perceived as a “plain” dress choice. I paired it with some chunky, black boots and a gold choker which I had been dying to rock since I purchased it from River Island.
When we arrived at the venue (The W Hotel, Leicester Square), we were amazed by how it looked… I mean, there was a giant disco ball hanging from the ceiling, what more could you want? Along with the glitter ball, there was a photo booth (which we had a little too much fun in), a glitter station (all hail glitter at Christmas) and a Just Dance station (we weren’t quite brave enough to go on this in front of everyone). It was such a great little set up and we had such a lovely time catching up over endless glasses of prosecco. I didn’t get much of a chance to network with other bloggers but I sure had a great time. The canapés throughout the night were also super yummy. The desserts took the crown for me as the Eton Mess hit every taste bud I had.
At the end of the night, we each received a generous gift bag which was full of goodies including:
- Elegant touch false nail set
- Milk chocolate and salted caramel sticks
- 2 x pairs of eyelashes
- St Moriz tanning mousse
- Nyx Lipstick Lingerie (see my previous review here!)
- A Christmas candle
All in all, it was a fabulous, sparkly, sassy night and I had a great time. It being my first blogger event, I can admit that I was so nervous to go as I knew I would know nobody but I am glad that I muscled up the courage and went along.
