Laura Geller Matte Maker Invisible Oil Blotting Powder Review

The powder immediately caught my attention as I hate shine on my face and had been looking around for a way to prevent this from happening. Despite being a mouthful to say (Laura Geller Matte Maker Invisible Oil Blotting Powder?!), it really did look like a nifty powder for making my face matte the way I like it. After a little bit of the normal “do I, don’t I” … “but I need to save money!”, I decided to just bite the bullet and give it a go. QVC, after all, do have the 30 day money back guarantee so if I didn’t like it then I could always send it back and get a refund.

I think the Laura Geller Matte Maker Invisible Oil Blotting Powder has become one of my new favourite beauty purchases of 2016 as it really does work wonders on my face and remove the pesky shine which I dislike so much. I would admit that I do touch it up in the afternoon but that’s just because I tend to –grim- sweat a lot from my face which really plays havoc with any sort of make-up I put on my face. This, however, makes me feel instantly better as it removes that leftover shine and makes me feel a bit more myself. In terms of where I put it, I tend to focus on my forehead and nose area, alongside my upper-lip (SULA, anyone?!) and my chin. It just gives me an overall matte finish which I can’t get enough of.

For the ridiculously good price of £16.50, you received the powder and a little fan brush. I have to admit, I do not use the brush that came with the powder as I felt it did not really put much of the product on my face. I use, instead, my stippling brush which I feel works a lot better at removing the shine. In the product description, it does call the brush a stippling brush but it is not the conventional one as you can see in the photo… unless I am wrong and getting confused with my brush terminology here?

Overall, I cannot get enough of the Laura Geller Matte Maker Invisible Oil Blotting Powder. It has become a sure make-up staple for me and I carry it in my bag everywhere I go so I can remove that shine from my face and get the matte back in my life. It’s my first Laura Geller make-up product and I can tell you it will not be my last.
