When I heard that Kat Von D had launched in Debenhams, I knew straight away that I needed to get my hands on the tattoo liner. I had previously been a huge supporter of the Soap & Glory Supercat but recently it had really been letting me down; I am talking full blown eyelid smudging and just general wearing out throughout the day. I had even replaced the pen hoping it was just near the end of it’s life, but nope, Supercat had begun to get on my nerves. It got to the point where I actually could not wear eyeliner some days as my watery eyes would just leave me with a huge black smudge across my lid – not pretty! When you research in the blogger community top eyeliners, Kat Von D tattoo liner seems to be a name which is brought up again and again. Being a UK blogger, the Kat Von D range used to be difficult to get hold of, so you can imagine my excitement when I saw that Debenhams had decided to stock the Kat Von D range for us UK residents. Immediately, tattoo liner entered my basket. Priced on Debenhams at £16, it is quite an investment for an eyeliner when you compare it to the £6 Supercat eyeliner. I, however, had gotten to the end of my tether in terms of annoyance at my eyeliner constantly smudging so I didn’t bat an eyelid.
Kat Von D Tattoo Liner Test
So to show you guys how amazing the Kat Von D eyeliner is, I decided to take a picture of it freshly applied at 8am in the morning (first photo) and then again when I was home from work at 6pm in the evening (second photo). As you can see, it is still perfect after 10 hours of stress and walking in hot weather. Usually, my Supercat liner would’ve been a smudged, faded mess! I am super impressed with the staying power of this tattoo liner as it doesn’t even fade throughout the day! Put it this way, I was super naughty and wore my make-up at the gym but this liner didn’t even smudge from my grim sweaty face… now that’s £16 well spent in my opinion.
In terms of ease of application, the really fine nib makes this liner a joy to put on each morning. You can get right to the lash line for precise application and you can really nail the cat eye flick as thin nib creates the perfect flick. I am usually a complete fool when it comes to drawing the flick on the eye but this liner is brilliant and you can see in the photos how neat it applies. I thought the Supercat liner had a great nib but the Kat Von D tattoo liner puts that to shame. It also applies seriously opaque and this opaqueness, as you can in the photos, lasts all day. I am beyond impressed with this liner and so pleased that it lived up to the hype!
