I feel like I start every single favourites post with an exclamation about how quickly this year is going but, seriously, we are over half way through 2016?! July has been a pretty hectic month for me and all and I have been really struggling to strike up a balance between my work, blogging and gym; there are not enough hours in the day! I am hoping to get back into my blogging routine this month though with two posts a week and some time to comment back on others blogs as I feel like I have really let this slack recently which makes me feel pretty crappy. I promise that I will try and get back on it; I know I said this in last month’s favourites but I am really hoping this month I make good on that promise! Moving on, this is what I have been loving this July 2016.

Gerard Way Funko Pop Figure

This month saw the addition of a new Funko Pop in my collection and one which was highly anticipated on my wish list – black parade Gerard Way from My Chemical Romance. As soon as I saw announced the black parade and revenge versions of Gerard Way, I just knew I had to have them in my collection. Yes, I was a big emo back in the year of 2006/2007 so this was a complete throwback to the good old days. Not to be a fan girl, but MCR are my all time favourite band and I just needed a little bit of them in my collection to really make it mine. Can I just add that I was completely devastated this month when I thought they were reuniting and then it turned out to just be an anniversary stunt – boo!

label.m Texturising Volume Spray

Kindly sent to me by the lovely label.m, this texturising volume spray is my actual favourite thing for my hair in the world. I used to buy this stuff every time I went to the hairdressers as I just adore what it does to your hair. It acts as a hairdresser but it also adds texture and a bit of edge to the hair which I love. I recently had been moaning non-stop about how flat and boring my hair is and the addition of this back into my life has actually made my month. The dry mist of the spray instantly teases edgy texture and builds height with long-lasting grip, for a dramatic back-combed effect; bring on the volume, that’s all I have to say!

Paco Rabanne Olympea

I bought this fragrance when boots had a £10 off deal on selected fragrances and boy I have not looked back. I had gone into the store wanting to purchase the Marc Jacobs Decadence fragrance as it smells gorgeous and the bottle is so chic. Boots were sold out which meant I had a bit of a sniff around and was completely won over by Olympea. This fragrance has opening notes of green mandarin, and a heart of ginger lily and jasmine. With a salty vanilla, cashmere wood and ambergris finish, Olympea has become a firm favourite this month. Can I also comment on how gorgeous the bottle is?! It definitely looks lush sitting on my dressing table.

Topshop Bandanas

These have been doing the rounds online and it is safe to say that I am loving them; I almost feel like this whole monthly favourites is a bit of a throwback to my emo days – you’ve got my backcomb spray, my black parade figure and now these bandanas… bring on 2007. These are so easy to style and they make me feel like I have done something with my hair which always makes me feel a bit better about myself. Not to mention, in the sun my scalp tends to get really burnt and these act as a bit of a cover for my scalp which is good news.

What were your July favourites?

I’ve been wondering if bandanas would come back in to style considering all the other stuff that has! I really want to try that volume spray. My hair is pretty flat and I don’t like to tease it, because my hair is a little on the fine side. I need something that can give it some lift and life. Great favorites round up 🙂 I was also an emo kid back in middle school (I don’t even want to get into what myspace page looked like).

I think people are loving wearing them round their necks at the moment but I am using them as an excuse to be a complete throwback and wearing them in my hair 🙂 I would definitely recommend the spray as it gives me great volume without backcombing … I also had an embarrassing myspace page! My “emo name” was Emilie Ecstasy – cringe xo

I love Pop figures, they’re so cool.. Been tempted by the idea of picking a few of the Walking Dead characters up for a while now.. x
