Right, I know I say it every month but, seriously, how are we past the halfway point for the year? I mean, literally about a week a go we were all exclaiming on Twitter how it is 6 months until Christmas… now I am writing my June Favourites in July! This month has been a weird one where I have been attempting to strike a balance between work and blogging; a feat which has turned out to be a lot harder than I thought considering I have also thrown a long distance relationship and fitness regime into the mix. My weeks consist of working 9-5 (what a way to make a living!), gyming 3 times a week and trying to keep up with Love Island and Big Brother (don’t judge!) whilst my weekends alternate between seeing my boyfriend and attempting to get sh*t done… the attempting to get sh*t done bit has been rather unsuccessful. Moving on to my June Favourites, they have been mostly practical things which I have been reaching for.
Nails Inc Nail Varnish in Baker Street
This colour had been on my wishlist for far too long and I am so over the moon to have finally bought it. It is a perfect Royal Blue and has definitely filled a space in my collection. Despite the suggestion that blue nails can look like a corpse, I find blue nails are usually something that I gravitate towards – it is after all my favourite colour! This blue is so eye-catching on the nails and I have been wearing it non-stop as it is such a gorgeous colour and the nails inc gel formula is fabulous.
Nails Inc Nail Varnish in Lexington Street
This colour came in a QVC bundle with Baker Street and I do really really love it. My Mum and I went into Fenwicks in Windsor to try nails inc shades on and we both agreed that this lilac was something we had not seen in a nail colour. I have seen pastel lilacs; I have seen aubergine purples; I had not seen such a pure lilac as this one and I am totally head over heels with it. In all honestly, I have been completely alternating between Lexington Street and Baker Street for June and I have no regrets about that.
Yankee Candle Melt in Killmanjaro Stars
I used to love candles, and when I say love, I really mean love. I was obsessed and would forever burn melts and candles every night without fail. These days, I have started to not burn my candles as by the time I get settled into my room, I am usually in bed half hour later so it is not enough time to burn them. However, I am really trying to get back into them as they are so de-stressing and are definitely something I need as of this moment. Killmanjaro Stars is a new scent obsession of mine. It is on the similar scale to Midsummer’s Night as it smells strongly of that “man aftershave” smell – a scent I definitely love as it is so powerful and gorgeous.
Liz Earle Gentle Face Exfoliator
Oh Liz Earle, a skincare which has quite literally changed my life. I have pretty much the whole range but needed an Exfoliator as my foundation was starting to cake to my dry its of skin. I have sensitive skin so I knew I needed a gentle one and this is absolutely perfect. It feels great on my face and has not made it react one bit – I use it once a week alongside my other products and I am definitely seeing the effects; my foundation goes on perfectly now and no longer flakes with my skin (ew).
The Body Shop Body Mist in Pink Grapefruit
My absolute favourite scent from The Body Shop is the Pink Grapefruit one; it is so fresh and fruity and has always been the range that I gravitated towards. So, when I realised I was running low on fragrances, I popped into The Body Shop and decided to get myself one of their mists as they are so cheap and great. This Pink Grapefruit one is the perfect summer scent as it is fresh and makes me feel like I smell like a summer fruit… literally. I also love the packaging re-design that The Body Shop seems to be heading towards as well so it looks pretty on my dressing table – always a bonus!
