Where did April go? Seriously, I cannot believe that it is already May. 2016 needs to take a chill pill ASAP and slow down before I go insane at the fact that I am already 5 months into the new year; we are speeding towards the half way point which frankly scares the bejeezus out of me. Anyway, with another month gone by, it is blogger tradition to share the monthly favourites. This April favourites features a variety of things that I fell in love with this past month.
Funko Pop Figures
These figures are slowly becoming my new obsession. I find them so adorable and I keep browsing casually on Amazon, finding more and more figures which I need to add to my growing collection. I first received a pop funko toy back in February for my birthday. My boyfriend gave me The Little Mermaid one as he knew that this is my favourite Disney film and, in turn, is my favourite Disney character. What better way to start off a collection than to have your favourite characters? Naturally, I started to browse what else funko had on offer in terms of their figures. As I was doing this back in March, I discovered that they were bringing out some more Harry Potter figures and one of them was going to be Luna Lovegood. She is my favourite HP character so I knew I needed her next in my collection; I already have her wand so I had to have her. When she became available on Amazon, for the decent price of £10, I also decided to get another Disney favourite of mine which is Stitch. Back when I was a teenager, I had Stitch everything: a Stitch cushion, a Stitch mug, all of the Disney Stitch bears; you name it, I had it. With this is mind, I thought it was right that I honoured that Stitch obsessed by buying this figurine. So, yeah, I have been pretty much obsessed with my funko collection and I am planning to buy so many more. I am thinking the Black Parade Gerard Way figure is next on my list.
Bunny Pom Pom Keyring
This was too adorable to leave behind in Dorothy Perkins a few weeks back. I kinda love bag pom poms, as you would know from previous favourites. So when I saw this little cutie in Dorothy Perkins, I had to have it to place on my everyday bag. I have seen pom poms go down the route of mimicking animals but it is usually done in a rather tacky way. For example, they will also stick a face with googly eyes onto the pom so it just looks tacky. However, I think this pom is rather understated and fab. You can tell it is a bunny from the little, adorable ears but it is not too over done where it looks tacky. I love it and it had to be in my April favourites.
Tarte Energy Noir Palette
I think this might just be my favourite palette of all time. I have honestly worn this eye palette pretty much everyday since I received it for my birthday; I am obsessed. I previously reviewed this palette in whole and I can say that I am still very much in love. I love that it has the flexibility to achieve a gorgeous, subtle daytime look as well as a classy, sexy night time look. I usually focus on the three shades which are situated in the left corner of the palette. Using the white as a light base, I then blend the lighter taupe shade into my crease, draw my winger eye-liner and then go back to the crease with the darker taupe shade to give the eye a little something something. I just love this palette and it really has revolutionised my eye make-up look.
Nails Inc Nail Varnish
I am loving the lighter weather and this has been reflected in my nail colour choices this month. The lighter, lilac shade is Manor House Drive which they claim is the “new white”. I adore this colour as it looks so mature and gorgeous on the nails and is not too distracting. Sometimes, you just want a delicate, understated nail and this is perfect for achieving that look. Not to mention, this colour is a strong contender as one of my most favourite colours as it is such a gorgeous mix between a lilac and a dusty grey. The pale blue colour is Stafford Street which is a lot more outstanding on the nails but still looks great for this time of year. I love these shades of blue on my nails as I think they look bright and gorgeous. I must also add that this colour is probably one of my favourite colours. You only have to look at my room to see how much I love the colour blue, so wearing it on my nails is always a favourite.
Bare Minerals Perfecting Powder
I have never tried a pressed powder before but I am starting to question why the hell not. I am in love with this perfecting veil powder which I ordered from QVC as it came alongside Bare Skin in a bargain, introductory value set. Side note: this introductory value set meant I got this perfecting powder and Bare Skin foundation for only £25! I know, go check QVC out now! Back to this powder, I have always used Bare Minerals powder as my foundation but this pressed powder acts as my last step in the routine and keeps my make-up in place. I have also started packing it in my bag to take with my to places as, when I am out and about, my make-up tends to rub off and this means I can top up. I tend to always get a sweat upper lip (Wild Child SULA anyone?) and a sweaty chin for some bizarre and cruel reason so this powder means that I can top my powder up to maintain the matte look which I love. Nobody wants to look like a sweaty mess and this powder has allowed me not to; I had to feature it on my April favourites. Keep your eyes peeled though for a full review blog post on this powder and the Bare Skin foundation.
